Year 10 visited Wakehurst Place to collect the data for their Core Practical in Loder Valley Nature Reserve. They worked in groups to investigate the relationship between two plant species and their environment using field-work techniques, including quadrats and belt transects.
They counted the plants and recorded the soil moisture and light intensity from the top of the Hanging Meadow down towards the waterline. The students were incredibly resilient as it rained the entire trip!
