Last week, Reception and Year 1 went on a woodland walk to Coombe Wood to look for signs of autumn as part of half-term topic. The girls spotted leaves, seeds, birds, squirrels, berries, chestnuts and many more signs of autumn.
They experienced some heavy rain and windy weather which we discussed is a common effect of the changing season. The girls even used mirrors, which they held above the tip of their nose, to observe the wonderful tree tops and the various colours of leaves. We also created our own woodland crowns which they decorated with autumn treasures.
