Here is some breaking news! Both Liana and Ayesha in Year 8 have got through to the final of the BAFTA Young Game Designers Competition 2024.
This is particularly impressive, because every year the thousands of students nationally that enter this very rigorous and challenging competition, where the standards are incredibly high. This now makes a grand total of 11 students who have got through to the BAFTA final from OP (for either games design or games making) in the last 8 years – since we started submitting entries.
Both Liana and Ayesha got through to the final 10 students for games design. Their game is called “Sunny Side” about a helpful duck. The graphics and design work for this are particularly impressive for their age range, and are very polished looking, as well as having real retro feel to them. The final is at BAFTA HQ in Piccadilly, is in early July.
