Year 5 visited Chessington World of Adventures as part of their ‘Scream Machine’ topic. They took part in a Science workshop about how forces act on the rides and investigated how friction and gravity act upon moving objects. They also faced their fears by braving many of the rides, including Vampire, Monkey Swingers, Scorpion Express, Blue Barnacle and Kobra.
It was an exhilarating day for students and teachers alike and has already inspired some brilliant creative writing and artwork. The icing on the cake was stroking the Education Centre’s pet hedgehog ‘Darwin’!
