We were delighted to welcome the award-winning author, Sufiya Ahmed, to Old Palace on Wednesday. Sufiya’s first book was the critically-acclaimed Secrets of the Henna Girl, about a 16 year old girl who goes on a summer holiday to Pakistan with her parents, only to discover she is expected to undergo a forced marriage.
Sufiya talked to Senior School students about her career in politics and the Houses of Parliament and the fact that it took her 15 years to become a published author. Her motto was definitely ‘don’t give up on your dreams’.
