Last week saw the return of the annual House Bake Off competition in which teams representing the four Old Palace Houses from Years 8,9 & 10 donned their aprons, rolled up their sleeves and put their baking skills to the test.
This year’s theme was school subjects and the three teams of bakers and decorators did not disappoint. There were mathematical equations, splashes of paint on palettes, swimmers in a cake-sized fondant pool and even a volcano eruption rendered in icing and sponge (see below).
Congratulations to the winners: Best in Year 8 (Hatton): Best in Year 9 (Anselm) & Best in Year 10 Stafford. The Overall Winner was Year 9 Anselm with their amazing open book cake below.
